News | Competition | Sundance Channel Shorts | Runner-up | Salvaj

I am excited to announce that our short film, Salvaj (2014), was awarded the Runner-Up Prize at the inaugural Sundance Channel Shorts co-organised by Astro and AMC Networks. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the jury and congratulations to my committed cast and crew who collaborated on the project.

In delivering their verdict, the jury said of Salvaj:

“Beautifully shot. Nicely acted. Good attention to detail. A seemingly straightforward story is made more interesting with some good twists and turns in the narrative. A concise story in its own right, one can see the textures of a larger story that this could easily have been pulled out of.”

The announcement of the results is covered here by Pass the Popcorn and BERNAMA.

Along with Paul Gan’s Boy Who Rocked the World and Sidney Chan’s Fish Lantern, Salvaj is expected to make its debut on Sundance TV (Astro Channel 438) sometime in 2015. Stay tuned and watch this space for more details!
